Salvatore F. Cannizzaro began his career in the printing industry. At the age of 24, after working for several printing companies, Sal started his own printing business, Innovative Folding Carton Co., which is still operating today as WestRock.
After years of sustained growth and several relocations, Innovative purchased a building in South Plainfield, NJ. Sal managed the complete renovation and subsequent 35,000 sq. ft. expansion of this building, ultimately creating a showcase 100,000 square foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Innovative Folding Carton Co. grew to be a very profitable, highly respected printer that employed 270 people. In 1998, Sal sold the company to a venture capital firm.
In 1998, Sal founded SFC Enterprises, Inc., a real-estate development company, and holds the title of President and Founder of the company. He is responsible for overall management and development, as well as setting the company's entrepreneurial vision and strategic direction.
Over the years, Sal made timely investments throughout the region and managed the development of these properties. He also managed the construction of his own substantial personal residence in exclusive Monmouth County, NJ. From residential developments on the Jersey shore to commercial properties in the Bronx, Staten Island and New York City, Sal continues to grow the business while bringing value to local communities. Sal’s devotion to the community and to his businesses make him an ideal leader and entrepreneur in today’s emerging business world.
In 2012 Sal created the Urgent Care concept with Primary Care in the same location. Now having a group of urgent care centers known as Immediate Care Medical Walk-in, which he holds the title as Chief Executive Officer since 2012. Sal founded and developed Immediate Care Medical Walk-In Center, with seven locations in NJ. Immediate Care is an urgent care walk-in clinic that provides care for non-life-threatening illnesses.
In March of 2022, Immediate Care was purchased by one of New Jersey’s largest healthcare networks, Atlantic Health System. With the broad reach of Atlantic Health System’s electronic medical records (Epic), each of the seven locations connect with the hospital system’s more than 400 sites of care.
The newly formed partnership with Atlantic Health System allows for Immediate Care to continue its mission of growth throughout the state of New Jersey, allowing patients more access to both convenient and quality healthcare. Sal is inspired by the opportunity this collaboration creates to improve continuity of care throughout the communities Immediate Care serves and beyond. Immediate Care is proud to be joining the family at Atlantic Health System.
Sal remains the active CEO of Immediate Care Medical Walk-In and continues to partner with Atlantic Health System focusing on the strategic growth and expansion of the company.
Sal Cannizzaro also prides himself on the success of his Real Estate Holdings Company, SFC Enterprises, managed by his son Frank Cannizzaro, Vice President of Construction. SFC specializes in medical, urgent care, physician’s offices and hospitals, with extensive experience in large commercial projects in New York and New Jersey. What makes SFC so unique is their emphasis on partnering with communities, business professionals and individuals to develop, build and bring to market properties of distinction that will endure for generations to come. Sal and Frank continue to grow the construction wing of the Real Estate Division, while managing multiple projects for their clients.
Frank Cannizzaro joined SFC Enterprises, Inc. in 2005 and currently serves as their Executive Vice President. Frank oversees all construction and real estate development projects within the company.
Frank started working in construction as a teenager remodeling homes and from that experience decided he wanted to make a career of it. With that, he proceeded to attend Pratt Institute to develop his knowledge and career within the industry. Following attending Pratt Institute Frank shifted his career into commercial construction and development.
After years of on field experience and managing projects, Frank stepped up to a higher role at SFC to his current role as EVP. He takes a hands-on approach with every project and remains intertwined with the daily performance of each individual project. Frank’s role within SFC provides leadership, vision, and direction for multiple aspects of construction, including Project Management, Contracts, Field Operations, Equipment, Environmental Compliance and Safety.
Additionally, Frank is responsible for ensuring SFC achieves its financial goals and objectives, while increasing operating performance and developing short- and long-term strategic plans. He oversees all facets of the construction process in business planning, budget preparation, forecasting and solving internal or external issues as they arise.
Robert serves as SFC Enterprises, Inc.’s Chief Operating officer, facilitating the execution of the company’s developmental goals and management with a focus on efficiency and professionalism. Acting as the liaison between external partners, organizations and agencies and SFC’s executive team and Chief Executive Officer, Robert harmonizes day-to-day operations with project completion, ensuring an end result consistent with the company’s strait forward approach to development and portfolio expansion in the region.
With degrees in both finance and law, for the past (30) years Robert has worked extensively with both public and closely held developers, tenants, REITS, contractors, brokers, real estate management companies, municipalities and governing agencies, acquiring a broad understanding of a the real estate sector, inclusive of residential, commercial, medical, hospitality and the entertainment markets.
Robert comes to SFC following his dual role as Director of Operations of Somerset Development and Chief Operating Officer of Bell Works. Preceding his executive appointments, Robert enjoyed a successful career as a partner at a large law firm where his specialties included real estate in all facets. During his tenure as an attorney, Robert received a multitude of honors and recognitions, including selection by the prestigious Chambers and Partners.
Richard Maier graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from the Anisfield School of Business. Maier brings six years of accounting experience to the team, with his expertise being inclusive of processing payroll for multiple entities across a wide range of employment types, accounts payable/receivable, expense reports, and preparing yearly budgets for all entities at SFC Enterprises, Inc.
Maier started as a Junior Accountant and was quickly propelled to the position of Financial Controller and now Director of Finance for the organization. Over the course of seven years, he has taken the responsibility of managing the entire accounting department.
Starting with SFC in July of 2016, Mike brought 20 plus years of Construction Management experience to our team. Mike easily filled the roll of Purchasing/Construction Manager here at SFC with his extensive experience in large scale projects, where he specialized in commercial, residential, assisted living and hotel projects.
Mike has knowledge in all facets of construction with a strong background in structural framing and interior finish. Most rolls throughout his career have been of a supervisor position whether it be a project manager or superintendent.
Mike has proven to be a solution driven leader with the ability to build solid relationships built on trust and understanding, empowering teams to excel by example.
Kara graduated Marymount Manhattan College in 2012 with a BA in Communications specializing in promotional and professional communications. Since graduating, Kara has had extensive corporate experience in several fields from administrative work to product development. She joined the team at SFC Enterprises, Inc. in 2018 as the Executive Assistant to the CEO and was promoted in 2020 to the Marketing Manager and Office Manager.
